Emmanuel King was presented the  2011 GBIS BMET of The Year Award. The BMET of The Year is selected from a list of nominees throughout the state of Georgia.The nominees are graded on the following criteria:

1. Must be employed for at least 5 years as a Clinical/ Biomed position.

2. Involved in national,state or local Clinical/ Biomed organization.

3. Involved in standards, product development processes: (such as AAMI, JC, Manufacturer surveys, etc..).

4. Contributes to education of Clinical/ Biomedical Technology in some fashion.

5. Has demonstrated practical and appropriate applications of engineering, computers, or other technology for solutions of problems in improving patient care.

6. Demonstrated innovative, creative and commitment to the healthcare field.

7. Has made an impact or contribution toward the betterment and improvement in their community.

Emmanuel scored overwhelmingly in all areas. congratulations.

2012 GBIS Technical Conference

Georgia Biomedical Instrumentation Society will be conducting the 2012 GBIS Technical Conference August 17-19, hosted at the WellStar Development Center, Atlanta GA. 

Participants can take advantage of educational, networking and personal development opportunities that can help expand work skills, increase productivity, make contacts with peers and see new healthcare technology demonstrated by manufacturers and vendors. Find the lowest cost, best quality products, and alternatives in service.

Exhibitors can take advantage to demonstrate the latest healthcare technology to hundreds of participants in a single setting. Given the opportunities to make contacts, sells and developing lasting relationships and benefit business for both participants and vendors.

Space is limited and a sell-out is anticipated therefore acceptance will be on a first come first serve basis. 

Cost for attendee:

Free for members who joined GBIS after August 2011

$45 for individuals

$30 for students

$30 for guests

$650.00 for corporate members joined after August 2011

$750.00 all others

(all paid participants include a one year membership)

Annual Meeting and Banquet 

The GBIS Annual Meeting and Banquet will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012, 6:30 P.M. at the WellStar Development Center. There will be a brief business meeting, dinner, presentation of awards and entertainment.

This event is to help support the mission of GBIS, administrative cost, charity organizations and develop a scholarship program.

All participants and exhibitors may attend at no charge, however each individual needs to register for the banquet to get a head count. Click here.
